Our Mental Health Service has Closed to new Adult ADHD Referrals 23/6/25

For children you should approach the school whose SENCO & Educational Psychologists as the most appropriate pathway of assessment. Whilst you can self-refer to CAHMs as below the most appropriate service is within the school.

For Adults: Update 23/6/2025: Our local mental health services have ceased to offer a service for new adult patients to be assessed or treated for ADHD. There is a national taskforce which has been established to work on this issue, however there are no indications yet that sufficient resources will be available anytime soon for commissioners or providers to appropriately and safely meet this demand. This work is being led by the MHLDA collaboration across NEL to agree a model

Wood Lane Medical Centre is NOT able to support shared care prescribing for ADULT ADHD where the diagnosis has NOT been made or approved by the local NELFT Psychiatry medically qualified doctors who have agreed to a shared care prescribing agreement approved by the Northeast London Area Prescribing Committee. Where private or other providers have made the diagnosis and initiated or recommended treatment then those providers will need to continue to provide prescriptions and medication monitoring
